What is the Good Vibe Collective?
The Good Vibe Collective is comprised of a diverse group of full-time nomads who are passionate about setting vibes and creating opportunities for nomadic community to thrive.
We are an unregistered, not-for-profit, 100% volunteer-led social group. Each year the Crew of the Collective individually works with dozens of event organizers, producers, media professionals, brands, land managers, and lawmakers to educate, communicate, and advocate on behalf of full-time nomads everywhere. We each work on our own interests and projects and come together to collaborate and support each other and work on incorporating our 6 guiding principles.
Scroll down to check out our 6 Principles for Nomadic Community! These are the guiding principles that each member of the Crew strives to improve upon at each event, gathering, or meeting they have. Everyone is at a different place in their journey — these principles are designed to inspire and ask each of us to continually reevaluate and improve.
We believe that "we already are what we've been looking for" — We believe that nomads already have the passion and skills to live meaningful, resilient, and happy lives. Our goal is to foster a well-connected nomadic community that works collaboratively, not competitively to sustain ourselves and our ecosystem.
We also share upcoming events, news, and resources that are specifically relevant to nomads. Check out the constantly updated calendar of Events.
Our Six Principles for Nomadic Community
1. Welcome Diversity!
If you want to be here, then we want you to be here. When we host events and craft experiences for the community, we need to think about accessibility and creating safe, inclusive, comfortable spaces for all nomads to share their authentic selves. Diversity builds community resilience!
We ask all attendees for their support in making everyone feel welcome, and this starts with recognizing the privileges we individually acquire within society at large. Creepy, rude, abusive, or bigoted behavior will get you booted!
2. Practice Self Reliance
Everyone should be prepared to care for themselves and keep track of their companions and items wherever we gather. The community can be a great source of inspiration and support, however it is the individual's responsibility to be aware of weather, cell signal, road conditions, and prepare for other personal needs. Gathering locations often do not provide water, bathrooms, security, electricity, or any other services. It's a best practice to prepare to be without.
3. Acknowledge the Land
We believe it's important to learn about who's ancestral land we are on, who has jurisdiction today, how the land is being used, and what characteristics or inhabitants define the ecosystem. We ask all nomads to educate themselves before attending a gathering or setting up camp. We ought to seek out, understand, and abide by local laws, restrictions, and customs, and respect the land and its many inhabitants.
4. Acknowledge Your Power
We believe humans belong out in Nature, but we also acknowledge that humans have a unique ability to damage the ecosystem as well. We also have the power to leave the spaces we occupy better than we found it and participate in the evolution and balance of the Land. We ask everyone to practice Leave No Trace outdoor ethics. This includes packing out all trash; abiding by campfire regulations; and removing all human or pet poop and TP (in most places burying waste is no longer acceptable). Your power to affect the world around you takes many forms; what privileges and influence do you have in life?
5. Spread Good Vibes
How can you add positive energy to this moment? A smile, hug, a goofy dance, offering your neighbor a hand with a project... Let's come together and spread good vibes wherever we roll. We encourage everyone attending an event to align their intentions with growth, learning, humility, and joy! Let's enjoy this journey and bring others along!
6. Share your Gifts
Everyone has innate gifts and talents. By sharing these with others, we create a community where support can come from within. In lieu of tickets, we ask that you bring your authentic self and share your passions and abilities with the community. We believe that we already are what we are looking for! Come as you are, and please share what you’re able. Community thrives on generosity.
